Editorial standards

Useful decisions. Clear sourcing. Transparent relationships.

Fitness Equipment Executive publishes practical operating intelligence for the people who sell, specify, distribute, install, service and buy commercial fitness equipment. Substantive guides should identify the reader, the decision, the evidence to pull and the action to take.

Original Executive Spotlights

Executive Spotlights must be grounded in an identifiable interview or documented company source. We preserve the leader’s story while explaining business decisions, constraints, outcomes and transferable lessons. Quotes, numbers and claimed results must be supported and attributed.

An illustrative scenario or proposed business model is labeled as an FEX framework. It is not presented as an interview, a client result or a real company’s operating history. Press releases are identified as company statements.

Industry reporting and sources

Reported facts are distinguished from company claims and FEX editorial recommendations. Specifications, warranty terms, regulations, standards and market statistics require current, relevant sources. We prefer manufacturer documentation, government and standards sources, original research and original interviews.

Tables must help readers make a decision. Suggested thresholds and hypothetical calculations are clearly labeled; they are not presented as industry benchmarks. Technical procedures follow applicable model-specific instructions. Financial or legal implications are not inferred from an unrelated example.

Every substantive guide should provide a usable tool, questions to ask, relevant red flags and concrete next steps. Presentation varies with the decision; the standard is an editorial checklist, not an identical page template.

Corrections

If we learn that a published factual detail is materially wrong, our standard is to correct it. Minor typographical fixes may be made without a correction note; substantive corrections should be made transparently when appropriate.

Editorial and paid media

The original interview and Executive Spotlight are complimentary. Purchasing an optional Media Kit is not required for the original article to be published.

Any paid placement, sponsored promotion, or advertising treatment should be identified clearly enough that a reasonable reader can distinguish it from independent editorial coverage.

Images and captions

Images supplied by a featured company should not be presented as independent photography. Illustrative stock photography should be identified or credited where appropriate and should not be represented as a featured company’s facility, product, or personnel.

Conflicts and disclosure

Commercial relationships that are relevant to how a reader would interpret a piece of content should be disclosed. Referral or partnership arrangements should not change the factual standards applied to an editorial article.
