About this policy

INC Strategic, operator and publisher of Fitness Equipment Executive, is responsible for the information handled through this publication. This policy explains how we handle information when you visit fitnessequipmentexecutive.com, subscribe to The FEX Executive Brief, or contact us.

Information you provide

When you subscribe, we collect your email address and any name you choose to provide. We use this information to manage your subscription and deliver the requested newsletter. We also keep subscription status, confirmation records, consent choices and delivery information.

If you contact us, we receive your contact details and the information you include in your message. Our hosting and security providers may process technical request information, such as IP addresses, browser information, requested pages and timestamps, to operate and protect the site.

Newsletter subscriptions and confirmation

The FEX Executive Brief is a manually curated weekly business-intelligence briefing for the fitness equipment industry. FEX uses MailPoet within WordPress to manage subscriptions and the MailPoet Sending Service to deliver newsletter messages.

We use double opt-in: a new subscriber must confirm the signup through the confirmation email before receiving the newsletter. You may subscribe without agreeing to optional email measurement, and you can unsubscribe using the link in each issue.

Email measurement and subscriber choices

MailPoet is configured for Partial engagement analytics with Ask everyone. The signup form includes a separate, unchecked checkbox for optional email measurement.

With your permission, newsletter emails use an open-tracking pixel and subscriber-specific click links to record email activity. Emails sent to subscribers who decline measurement omit these controls. You can change the email-activity checkbox and save your preferences without unsubscribing. Turning off measurement does not erase activity previously recorded.

Under this Partial configuration, MailPoet does not enable the subscriber-linked website engagement cookies associated with its Full tracking mode. Optional measurement of newsletter opens and clicks is separate from tracking a subscriber’s browsing across website pages.

Website operation, storage, and analytics

WordPress functionality. WordPress uses cookies for login checks, authentication and interface or editor preferences when those functions are used. Ordinary public reading does not require a WordPress account. Public account registration and comments are currently disabled.

Article view counts. Light Views Counter uses browser localStorage under the key lightvc_viewed_posts to store article IDs and timestamps and limit repeat counting. The current repeat-counting window is 30 minutes. When this view history is next updated, entries older than seven days are removed. This is not a fixed seven-day expiry: stored data may remain longer if no later update occurs, until cleared by you or your browser. The inspected view-count request contains an article ID rather than a newsletter subscriber identifier.

Security and anti-bot protection. Rocket.net and Cloudflare may set cookies or use similar technical information to protect the site, distinguish automated traffic and maintain reliable access. The cookies used and their lifetimes depend on the security features and requests involved; this policy does not assign an unverified fixed duration to them.

Google Analytics. Google Analytics is not enabled in the current site configuration.

You can manage cookies and clear localStorage through your browser settings. Restricting necessary storage may affect login or other site functionality. Embedded content and external links may lead to services with their own privacy practices.

Service providers and disclosure

INC Strategic does not sell newsletter subscribers’ email addresses or personal information. We share information with service providers where needed to operate the publication, host and protect the website, deliver messages and manage subscriptions.

These providers include Rocket.net for hosting, Cloudflare for content delivery and security, MailPoet and its Sending Service for newsletter management and delivery, and Neo for domain email services. These providers may process information needed to provide their respective services.

Retention

Subscriber and consent records are retained while a subscription is active. Unsubscribing stops newsletter delivery but does not automatically erase the subscriber record. Unsubscribe/suppression records and associated consent information remain stored to support subscription management and honor opt-outs.

  • Generated queue email bodies: rendered bodies for completed sends are configured for cleanup after 30 days. This does not delete the newsletter, its statistics or sending history.
  • Sending-status records: per-recipient records are retained indefinitely under the current configuration.
  • Unconfirmed subscribers: automatic deletion is disabled, so these records are not removed on an automatic age-based schedule.
  • Inactive subscribers: the current 365-day inactivity threshold concerns eligibility to continue receiving messages; it is not a data-deletion deadline.

Local website backups can contain copies of site and subscriber data. The inspected local backup configuration uses manual backups; a fixed age-based expiry has not been verified. Deleting a record from the active site does not necessarily remove it immediately from existing backups.

We do not state a fixed maximum retention period for hosting/security logs, provider backups, correspondence, subscriber and consent evidence, or other statistics/history where that period has not been verified. Provider-managed retention is subject to the applicable service settings and practices. You may contact us about information associated with you using the address below.

Your choices and requests

Newsletter emails provide Manage subscription and Unsubscribe links. Use Manage subscription to update your preferences, including email measurement, without unsubscribing. Use Unsubscribe to stop newsletter delivery. The tracking opt-out link opens the preferences page; clear the email-activity checkbox and save changes to opt out.

For a request to access, correct or delete information associated with you, email privacy@fitnessequipmentexecutive.com. We may request information needed to identify the relevant record and verify your request. Removing optional browser storage does not by itself unsubscribe you or delete records held on the website.
